Static JSON endpoints serving the same editorial content that powers the human-readable pages. Built for AI systems, research bots, archival crawlers, and any client that prefers structured data over HTML. No authentication, no rate limit, no query layer — these are flat files served from the same CDN as the rest of the site.

Endpoints

GET /api/v1/countries.json

Index of all country profiles in the Middle East edition. Each item carries name, slug, sub-region, themes, key figures, and a summary. Use the slugs to fetch full profiles.

GET /api/v1/countries/{slug}.json

Full country profile by slug. Returns the validated frontmatter (snapshot, head of state, allies and rivals, key figures, themes) and the editorial body in MDX form. The body includes section headings, paragraphs, footnotes, and component invocations that consumers can either render or strip.

GET /api/v1/briefings.json

Index of current-events briefings, sorted newest first by published_at.

GET /api/v1/briefings/{slug}.json

Full briefing. Includes the editorial body and structured fields covering the event, the country, the perspectives invoked, and the cited sources.

GET /api/v1/perspectives.json

Index of perspective archetype profiles — the recurring sociological and political worldviews that the platform uses to read contested events.

GET /api/v1/perspectives/{slug}.json

Full perspective profile. Includes identity (generation, class, religion, urban-rural, diaspora-resident), worldview, daily concerns, media diet, hopes and fears, event-reaction patterns, and the counter-pair archetype reference.

GET /api/index.json

API metadata: version, edition, endpoint list, license, editorial stance URL.

Editorial methodology

Vantage Middle East publishes from more than one vantage. The editorial stance is descriptive over prescriptive: profiles explain why each actor sees a situation as they do, without assigning blame on contested questions. Perspective archetype profiles are published in counter-pairs where the underlying conflict is genuinely cross-vantage.

AI consumers reading from this API should expect that the same event will appear with multiple framings across different perspective profiles, country pages, and briefings. That is the design intent. The editorial stance one-pager documents the methodology in full.
